Local Salon offers “Be Beautiful – inside and out” to support first Children’s Hospice Home

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – March 15, 2012 – Aafusion Spa Salon at 1703 W County Road 42 in Burnsville is making it fun to care for others by hosting a night to, “Be Beautiful - inside and out,” Friday, March 30 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. to raise funds and awareness for Children’s Lighthouse of Minnesota, a children’s hospice and respite care home in its development stage.

The Salon’s staff will offer polish changes, makeup techniques, hair styling and massage services at the greatly reduced price of $10 each to all customers purchasing a $10 ticket to the evening event. Revenue from ticket sales and the sale of each service will go directly to Children’s Lighthouse.

As an added incentive, prize drawings and a silent auction will be held throughout the evening including gifts from local retailers, restaurants and service providers. Participants will enjoy camaraderie, beauty services at greatly reduced prices, refreshments and the knowledge they are supporting an important cause.

Children’s Lighthouse of Minnesota is a non-profit organization in the planning stages of building the first residential hospice home in the Midwest offering palliative and respite care to children with a limited life expectancy and their families. Events throughout the community have raised awareness and funds for the mission of Children’s Lighthouse. The need is great in our own Minnesota with upwards of 2,200 families caring, day in and day out, for the critical needs of children with life-limiting conditions and those facing end-of-life stages with no hospice home designed specifically for children and their families.

Representatives of Children’s Lighthouse and more information will be present at the event hosted by Aafusion Salon. Presenting a fun opportunity to care for you and raise funds for families and children in our community, Aafusion Salon is selling advance and same day tickets. To buy tickets, donate prizes and learn more about the event, call 952-898-1234.

About Children’s Lighthouse of Minnesota
The mission of Children’s Lighthouse of Minnesota is to build a residential hospice home in which to offer palliative care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Daily cares as well as pain and symptom management will be provided to children with a limited life expectancy during respite (short-term stays) or at the end of life. Children’s hospice and respite care homes around the world are primarily funded by community philanthropy and Children’s Lighthouse believes that Minnesotans have the means to make this home a reality for children and families here, too.
